The League of Women Voters

The League of Women Voters of Harford County is proud to have produced with the sponsorship of the Harford County Aegis Newspaper, Voters' Guides for both the 2008 Primary and General Election cycles. You may now get a guide on line for the General Election at the link below or watch for it in the Aegis.

Voter registration and fund-raising events were conducted at the Darlington Apple Festival, Macy's Shop for a Cause Day, the Rockfield Manor Wine Festival, and the Harford Mall Community Weekend. Student voter registration was conducted at all local high schools during the winter and fall of 2008 for the Primary and General election respectively. LWV-Harford set up a registration and information table at the Tri-County Women's Federal Employee gathering on Edgewood Area of Aberdeen Proving Ground.

Nine members took chief judge training at the Board of Elections to prepare for their rolls as Polling Place Evaluators, completing 30 evaluations in the southern part of the county during the Primary Election despite horrible icing conditions. The Evaluators performed their duties again during the General Election in November for the northern part of the county.

The LWV of Harford County cosponsored a Congressional Candidates’ Forum for Districts 1, 2 and 6 on September 18 at Harford Community College. The event was heavily attended. We are proud of our role in bringing this opportunity to voters. See pictures.
